This testimony is given with a desire to express gratitude for the many blessings I have received since coming into Christian Science. If is now over a year since I was healed of ptomaine poisoning. One evening I became ill soon after dinner, while alone in the house. I was unable to go for help, and the fact of being alone produced fear. Then the thought came that I did not have to go anywhere to find God, for God is a present help. Though I was somewhat relieved by this realization the pain continued, and about midnight the belief of passing on was aided by the voice of error. I succeeded in reaching the veranda, and remained there until after three o'clock in the morning, when these words of our Leader came to me, "Truth removes properly whatever is offensive" (Science and Health, p. 463) and I was instantaneously healed. I returned to the house, retired, and went to sleep immediately, awaking in a few hours refreshed and with every symptom of the disturbing condition dispelled.
This is but one of the many instances of deliverance from "the snare of the fowler," the bondage of error. The greatest healing, however, was from sorrow. A loved one, from whom I had never been separated for any length of time, passed on. The human tie was strong, and sorrow seemed to be "the master of joy" (Science and Health, p. 304) for about, two years; but with the patient help of a practitioner I was lifted from the depths of despair into the light which knows no darkness, for there is "no night there." My earnest desire is to reflect this truth in my life, that others may he led to Christian Science, and to prove that as we acknowledge God, He directs our path.
I wish to express thanksgiving and praise to God, also gratitude to Mrs. Eddy and to all Christian Scientists who have lovingly helped me to an understanding of this healing truth which makes man free.—Seaview, Wash.
