Among other things Christian Science has cured me of tubercular disease after every known remedy had been applied and failed. After I had been ill with throat and lung trouble for several years, one of the best physicians in southern Minnesota told my sister I could not live six months and advised my seeing a well known specialist at once. When I went he ordered me to the Southwest, saying, "You have come to me too late; but if you will go to the dry climate of the Southwest at once, it will probably prolong your life two years." I gave the dry climate of Arizona every opportunity to cure me, and remained under this specialist's care some two years, but gradually became weaker and worse in every way, and finally went under the care of a specialist here in El Paso with no benefit.
I had given away my keepsakes and was simply awaiting the end, when I was prevailed upon to try Christian Science, one of Mrs. Eddy's loyal students passing through here at that time. After reading that wonderful book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I found that God is the great Physician, and that lie needs no help from man or drugs. When I turned to Him and sought the healing and regenerating power of Truth through Christian Science, I began to be healed. From the day I decided to try Christian Science to the present time, I have never taken a drop of medicine or applied a single material remedy.
My healing was very slow, but I was healed not only of the tubercular trouble but also of serious stomach disorder, heart disease, skin trouble, and a general complication of diseases. I have gained in flesh, and each year my health is better. I feel that as I increase or grow in the understanding of God and His Christ, I am still being healed of self, and am rising day by day to that knowledge which is the fruit of dwelling "in the secret place of the most High."
