Some years ago I became interested in Christian Science, not because of the physical healing, but because I was dissatisfied with the teachings of the church to which I belonged. When I heard of Christian Science it at once appealed to me as the truth I had been seeking, and to the extent that I have faithfully applied its teachings Principle has never failed me. I am indeed grateful for the many blessings which have come into my life through the understanding in a small measure of this Christ-teaching.
Just before Christmas, 1915, I fell in the snow, breaking my leg and twisting my ankle. I lay still, realizing God's love and protection, and felt quite calm. I was able to step into the cab which took me home, and when the doctor came to set the leg, he found the bone was already in position. I suffered no pain, nor did I lose a night's rest. Absent treatment was given me by a Christian Science practitioner and the splint was removed within four weeks. In a little over four weeks I was able to walk across the room without the aid of a stick, and in about seven weeks I walked five miles.
My healing was complete and permanent, and I have never felt any ill effects from the accident. Early in 1916 I started canteen work, and as this means working hard and being on my feet from half past ten at night till seven in the morning, it is a strong proof to me of the completeness of my healing, for I never feel fatigue on these occasions.
