I wish to tell of some of the blessings which Christian Science has brought to us. One day in August, 1914, my sister while working in the garden was affected by the heat of the sun. She felt so ill she did not notice that among the weeds she had gathered to carry from the garden there was a poison ivy vine. The next morning her face was covered with blisters. My mother treated her, but the following day her head was almost twice its normal size, and her hands were drawn back until she could not use them. I was a student in the State Normal School at Springfield, Mo., and had been attending the Christian Science Sunday school all winter, so my mother sent word for me to treat my sister. I just used what I had learned in Sunday school, and in one week the swelling was all gone. The effects of the sunstroke remained a short time and then disappeared.
I myself have been healed of inflammatory rheumatism in one week, with the aid of a practitioner. For these and many other blessings we are truly thankful to God, and likewise grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who so lovingly taught us this wonderful truth.—Mountain View, Mo.
