Christian Science has brought about greater harmony in my business and given me more faith in God. I read the Bible more than ever before, as the understanding of Science and Health makes the Scriptures clear, and I know Christian Science to be a practical, every-day religion. Before taking up the study of this teaching I used to say, when I read the story of Christ Jesus' miracles (as we used to call them), "If I could only know these stories were true, how comforting it would be;" but there was always a doubt in my mind, try as I would to stifle it. Now I know these things occurred, because Christian Science has proven it, and thereby proven itself, in the healing of sickness and sin.
This great truth has made me more pure in heart (the opposite of what I used to be), has given me more love for God and my neighbor. It is banishing fear from my life by giving me greater trust in the power of God. If successful in a business transaction I no longer am puffed up with vanity, because I know that all good comes from God. Christian Science is giving me the desire that my business and all other dealings shall bring good to all, and thus right thinking is causing better living. In looking back over the past few years I know that the advancement has been great, and that it will continue.
I used to be bitterly opposed to Christian Science. Most men ridicule and scoff at this teaching because some one else has done so, and I was no exception to the rule. Eventually the fact became more fully realized that he who is honest will personally investigate with an open mind and find the truth. I opposed this religion and made myself ridiculous in the eyes of thinking men by referring to the great natural scientists. By this I condemned myself, because these thinkers were reporting that their investigations prove matter in its last analysis to be non-existent, which is entirely in agreement with Christian Science.
