The Master said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Through Christian Science I have experienced the truth of these words, in that it has brought me, together with health and regeneration, the joy and bliss of knowing the true God, who healeth and comforteth us. For many years I had poor health; in fact I had been a delicate child, and later sorrows and worries overwhelmed me.
I had reached a point where it seemed impossible that I could endure any more, when Christian Science came to my rescue. I first attended a Sunday service, and was very much impressed by its beauty and simplicity. A few weeks later, in December, I went to a Wednesday evening meeting, though the weather was cold and I had contracted bronchitis. During the service I became so convinced that Christian Science was the truth, that upon my return home I asked my daughter, who had become acquainted with Christian Science before me, to lend me her copy of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I read it until late that night, being hardly able to stop, as every line seemed to bring illumination, and passages in the Bible which I had never before understood, were revealed to me in all their truth. The next morning, upon awakening, my first thought was to continue the reading. Two days later I became aware that I was entirely free from the bronchitis.
Through the reading of Science and Health and through the truth expressed by one of our dear practitioners I have been healed of rheumatism, of varicose veins, of chronic laryngitis, of intense pain in the loins, of an internal complaint of more than thirty years' standing, and of many other ills which it would take too much space to enumerate. Since December, 1910, I have resorted to no material remedies. Whenever a trouble has manifested itself, the healing has been accomplished through working as we are taught in Christian Science.
