When Christian Science first came to me I was suffering from a belief of sorrow and great loneliness; also the problem of having to make my own living was before me and caused a great deal of fear and worry, as I had been tenderly reared and did not know which way to turn.
About this time a sister was healed by Christian Science treatment. The friend and practitioner who helped her also talked to me, and I shall always remember the remark she made, which was this: "It is only your thought of separation from God that causes you to feel lonely, sad, and fearful." Shortly afterward I borrowed a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy and began to read it. My thought was uplifted from the first, and I was able to overcome many ailments as they came up. My heart was so filled with love that I wanted to reach out and help every one, but as I then lived in a small town where my friends were non-Scientists, I did not continue to read and study as I should, although I never gave it up entirely.
About eight years ago I met with a disappointment which caused me to turn with all my heart to Christian Science, and I am happy to say there has been no wavering since. The problem of supply has come into my experience, and God has never failed me when I have looked only to Him. I am most thankful to God, and likewise grateful to Mrs. Eddy for revealing this truth.
