For a long time I have felt that I should like to tell something of what Christian Science has done for me, as I have found so much help from reading the testimonies of others. I first, became interested in Christian Science in May, 1913, while feeling very ill and discouraged. For years I had been suffering from stomach and bowel disorders, and after examination by X-ray was told that without an operation I could never expect to be well. I was forbidden to eat. certain things and was expected to take drugs regularly. Feeling that I could not undergo an operation I decided to have Christian Science treatment. After seeing a practitioner a few times I became much more hopeful, and in less than a fortnight was healed of the bowel trouble. The other healing took longer, but this made me read and study the more. I am now in perfect health, and able to do more than I have done for nearly twenty years.
It was a few days after I had begun to read Christian Science literature and had received some benefit, but before I had seen a practitioner, that the doctor showed me the X-ray photographs,—evidence, convincing to him, of the seriousness of my condition. While he was with me I had a very bad attack, due no doubt to fear. That evening a friend spoke to me of Christian Science and I determined to try it and give up the doctor. From that day to this none of my family has had medical treatment. One of my happiest. moments was when I threw away the large X-ray plates and all my medicine.
Christian Science has brought me many blessings in addition to physical healing. I am very grateful for the privilege of the Sunday school for my children, and also for the helpful literature.— Hildenborough, Kent, England.
