It is with a deep sense of gratitude...

From the January 1918 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with a deep sense of gratitude and love to God, also to Mrs. Eddy, that I send this testimony. In 1905 Christian Science was presented to me by a friend who knew I was suffering from what doctors call fibroid tumor, as well as numerous other ailments supposed to be caused by this condition. Three doctors had examined and treated me. They said an operation was necessary, but it would give only temporary relief. I received six weeks' treatment in Christian Science, then decided to try to help myself, but in a few weeks I consulted another doctor, who also declared an operation necessary. I, however, continued to read Science and Health, with the result that I was healed of a serious condition of the heart, of uterine, stomach, and bowel trouble, besides other ailments. In April, 1909, while listening to a lecture on Christian Science, I was healed of the fibroid tumor. Since then nervous headache and other ills have been overcome through Christian Science. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church, also in a branch church, for class instruction, which has enabled me to help others, and for the writings of Mrs. Eddy.—
