In loving gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me I send my testimony with a desire that it may help others. On January 30, 1916, I met with an accident, a fall which resulted in two ribs being broken just beneath the heart, a bad sprain in my side, and a severe nervous shock. I was away from home when it happened, and as I desired to have Christian Science treatment I was taken to my room and a practitioner was called. I was soon relieved of the intense pain and the distress of breathing, so that my healing began at once. My condition continued to improve, and in eight days I was able to go about the house as usual. No material means were used and I was not confined to the bed at all, but sat up every day and read Science and Health, thereby receiving a spiritual uplift such as I had never experienced before. This healing means more to me than I could possibly express in words.
Christian Science has also healed me of nervous sick headaches, from which I suffered for nineteen years, the attacks coming on frequently and being so severe that I was confined to my bed. Drugs relieved me temporarily, but I always lived in fear of having to go through the same suffering again. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was so completely healed in one day that the trouble never returned. I have been healed of rheumatism in my feet, severe colds have been instantly overcome, and I am deeply grateful for being healed of homesickness.
I do indeed feel thankful to God for all the blessings which have come to me through the teachings of Christian Science, and for the help we receive each day by studying the Lesson-Sermons and reading Science and Health and other writings by Mrs. Eddy, to whom we owe so much.— Long Beach, Cal.
