My desire is to tell a few of the many blessings that I have received through the reading and study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had heard of this wonderful Science over a year before turning to it for help, but paid little or no attention to it until I was stricken down with Bright's disease and for nine weeks was under a doctor's care. Every time the doctor came he changed his medicine, so I told my husband that if the doctor did not know what to do to help me, I was not going to take another drop of his medicine; that I heard that Christian Science healed people, and what was good for one would be good for me, and I was going to try it. He gave his consent, so I saw a practitioner and was convinced that God did not make or send anything but good to His children. Only three treatments had been given me when I felt almost a different being. I bought the textbook and began to study it in connection with the Bible, and soon found that it was what I had always wanted. In two weeks I was well, and I have not had another attack since. That was eight years ago. Whenever error has tried to slip in, the remedy has been found, safe and sure, in the Bible and Science and Health. I have been relying on them all these years and have had to ask for treatment only once, having been able not only to help myself but to help others.
I am thankful for having had class instruction, which is a great privilege and benefit. My greatest desire is to live Christian Science and thus show my appreciation. I am thankful for all our literature and never tire of reading the periodicals; indeed, I read little else. I am thankful to God, our Father, for His dear Son, and grateful to our Leader and to all those that have given me a word of help and encouragement.— Bowmansville, N. Y.
