I wish to testify with gratitude to the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. Though most unruly and mischievous as a boy and in later years a slave to evil beliefs and practices, I was always deeply touched by real goodness and had a strong belief in the power of prayer and in God's protection; therefore, when after many years of struggle I one day (in 1912) picked up a copy of Science and Health which my mother had brought over from England, I knew that at last I had found the truth. After that I read little else than Christian Science literature, and this study soon bore fruit in an increased desire and ability to do the good that I would do. Physical ills were quickly overcome, and in some measure I was able to help others and also the animals on our farm; but evil still seemed to be "present with me," so in 1915 I wrote to a Christian Science practitioner requesting treatment, with the result that through the loving help given I received great freedom.
God has been steadily leading me into more and more harmonious life and surroundings, and though for one year I allowed other things to crowd out God, yet the lessons which were learned during that period proved a blessing. This text from Philippians, "He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ," has been a great help. Since our marriage in August, 1917, my wife and I have had many beautiful experiences of the power of divine Love to supply our every need, and we both feel very grateful for the joy and freedom which a better knowledge of God has given us. I would also like to add how grateful I feel to all who have helped me, for the Christian Science periodicals, and for Mrs. Eddy's published works, which are bringing new life and health to thousands.—Neosho, Saskatchewan, Canada.
