Christian Science has brought so much happiness and health into my life that I feel more and more grateful every day for this healing truth. I heard of it twelve years ago from my daughter, to whom some of the literature had been sent, and she was very anxious that I should try it. Everything else had failed to help me, and I was pretty much a physical and nervous wreck. I did not know any Christian Scientists at that time, but I asked for absent treatment from a practitioner.
A copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, was given to me to study, and my condition immediately began to improve. I then put away all material medicines, for I knew I had found "the pearl priceless whereof our Master said, if a man findeth, he goeth and selleth all that he hath and buyeth it" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 252). Since then innumerable blessings have come to me and also to my family through Christian Science. I have been healed of a very distressing form of nervous neuralgic headache from which I had suffered for many years. A great deal of my time was spent in bed and on the sofa, and I was unable to walk much. Now I enjoy walking and lead an active life. I have also been healed of sleeplessness, general debility, and susceptibility to colds and rheumatism. During the war Christian Science was my great help and comfort; and particularly I wish to mention with much gratitude Mrs. Eddy's poem, "Mother's Evening Prayer" (Poems, p. 4). I have had two sons in service.
I am very grateful for all the Christian Science literature, including the Lesson-Sermons, and to Mrs. Eddy, who through her spiritual understanding of God and of the teachings of the Scriptures, was enabled to discover and give to the world the Science of Christianity which is able to heal the sick and solve all human problems.— Dumfries, Scotland.
