It is with a deep sense of gratitude...

From the February 1920 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with a deep sense of gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me and mine that I write this testimony. I was an invalid for over twenty-five years. Most of that time was spent in bed, on a couch, or in an invalid chair. I was scarcely ever free from pain or discomfort when not under the influence of some drug. Eight operations were performed and many other means of relief were tried, with only temporary benefit. I was a physical and mental wreck, tired of suffering and not caring to live any longer. In desperation I turned to Christian Science, although I had absolutely no faith in its power to heal. I shall never forget my first treatment—the wonderful sense of peace and security I experienced. Within two weeks I was able to be out of doors in all kinds of weather and to eat and drink anything I desired. I felt strong, free, and happy, a condition I never expected to experience again.

I am indeed grateful for Christian Science; it means everything to me. I was healed of inflammatory rheumatism, intestinal disorder of years' standing, complete nervous prostration, and a very serious rectal trouble which had caused severe suffering for many years and for which another operation was to have been performed as soon as the heart could stand the shock. Eight years have passed since my healing, and during those years I have had many proofs of the ever presence of divine Love.

I am grateful for our helpful literature and the Lesson-Sermons; grateful that in Christian Science I have found the truth which brings such wonderful freedom from all fears and doubts. My gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for giving us the truth about God and His perfect creation can never be expressed in words.—
