Testimonies of Healing

I know that every Christian Scientist...

From the May 1920 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I know that every Christian Scientist is grateful for every testimony of healing. I have enjoyed the experiences of others so much and they have been such a help to me, that I also desire to glorify God by telling of some of the blessings I have received since taking up the study of Christian Science. Space does not permit my going into detail, but I have seen all sorts of errors,—so-called incurable diseases, organic, and such as the doctors have given up as without hope,—yield to the power of divine Love.

Recently I mashed my finger. For a few moments the pain was intense, but the truth was declared and in a little while the pain was gone. I thought I would lose the nail, but, although the nail was broken, through the application of the truth it grew out perfectly without giving me any pain or inconvenience. In January, 1918, a complete healing took place when I heard the Lesson-Sermon on Sacrament read in the Christian Science church. The condition healed was a dragging of my right foot,—I had lost control of my leg entirely, and it gave me a great deal of annoyance and pain. When we do our part and know that God can and lovingly does adjust every circumstance, no matter how difficult it appears, we receive directly the blessing. For our literature I am also very grateful: the truth is brought out so clearly and beautifully, always meeting our individual need.

Can I ever be grateful enough for the peace and happiness which came to me when I realized that the kingdom of heaven is indeed within us and that it is a divine state of mind to be won here and now. My daily prayer will always be to reflect more love, more patience, and more kindness to all I come in contact with, thereby attracting them to the light that shines in the darkness, and leading them to the God of love, who meets our every need.—
