When a child I had a very severe case of diphtheria, and from that time on I was subject to throat trouble. Never a winter passed that I did not have one or more attacks of sore throat, and this difficulty continued a number of years after I became interested in Christian Science. Whenever it presented itself, help was asked for in Christian Science, and it was always quickly overcome, but still I suffered regularly from the disease.
About nine years ago I had a very sore throat, which developed into something far worse, and although I had Christian Science treatment it grew steadily worse until my throat became so swollen I was unable to take solid food, and finally had to write to make myself understood. This lasted for about a week, when suddenly one day after leaving the practitioner's office the healing took place. The swelling disappeared; it just seemed to vanish; all soreness left, and I was able to speak aloud and to eat solid food. Since that time I have never had the slightest trouble with my throat. The healing was complete. In thinking about this I realize that gradually during the years the healing was taking place. The frequent hammering at the root of the trouble had so weakened it that the final blow crumbled the foundation, showing that the treatments in the past had accomplished their work.
Christian Science is also a daily help to me in the business world. Sometimes in the hurry of everyday life we overlook the good that has come to us through this study, and it is only when we pause and look back that we are able to count our blessings.— San Jose, California.
