Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science is the greatest...

From the January 1922 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science is the greatest blessing that has come into my life, for it meets every need when rightly applied. Words fail to express my gratitude for this wonderful truth— the truth that makes one free. For several years I have been living in foreign countries and isolated places and have derived so much help from testimonies in the Journal that I want to help others with mine. The healing doubtless would be judged generally as a very slight one; but oh how big it seemed to me!

A brown spot appeared on one side of my forehead. I paid little attention to it, thinking it simply a little mole. In a few weeks it had enlarged to the size of a penny, and had extended out from the surface quite a bit, and I was frightened about it. I did not feel like asking a practitioner for help, lest she might think me proud or vain about my appearance; but I did not want that ugly spot to get any larger, indeed I did not want it there at all. Just what line of study or treatment or prayer to follow I did not know, so I simply turned to God with all my heart, knowing that God's child is spiritual and perfect, no matter what the material senses might say. I desired so earnestly to draw close to God and to realize my oneness with Him at all times that the disfiguring inharmony was completely forgotten. Several days passed before it returned to thought, and then the brown spot had about half disappeared, and in a short time was entirely gone, leaving no mark of any kind on my face. My gratitude was great.

Through a careful study of Science and Health, I have been healed of defective eyesight, after having worn glasses since childhood; also of severe stomach trouble. I have been helped many times through the loving service of practitioners. My gratitude is unbounded. How I wish every one knew what wonderful blessings would come to them through an understanding of divine Principle, God, as set forth in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My thoughts go out in praise and gratitude to God for all His blessings, and words fail to express my love and deep regard for Mrs. Eddy, who was patient and persistent enough to give to the world this spiritual interpretation of the Bible, which brings infinite good to all mankind.—
