Thou art all pure and perfect, child of light
Thine is a peace more calm than fields dew gray
And lightly shadow-flecked at dawn. Thy way
Lies straight and safe. Thy guiding star is bright.
Thy strength is surer than the strong wind's might,
And thou art fairer than cloud scenes, all day
Holding their changeful course that none can stay.
All things are pure in thy pure sight.
Yet is thy glory but a borrowed flame;
As the still lake mirrors the moon above
And with reflected gleams her waters shine,
So dost thou mirror Light, stainless, serene
Sustaining Spirit, and inspiring Love,
Life of all stirring things, joyous, divine.
