With deep gratitude I desire to give a testimony of the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. A Sentinel was sent to me by a friend to see if I could find anything in it that would help another in my home. Later on, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was lent me. At this time I had been suffering for over a year and a half from what seemed to be a lump at the base of the spinal column, the result of a bruise. I could only sit down on an inflated rubber ring, and was never without pain. Two physicians said that an operation was needed, but also stated that the difficulty might return. I decided that I would have no operation; and later on I gave up all material means, as they were not helping me.
I started reading Science and Health, not knowing anything about Christian Science; but I read it deeply, sincerely, and drank in every word about God,—Life, Truth, and Love. About the third week, while I was reading, I felt under me to shift the rubber ring and found that I had forgotten to place it on the chair; yet I had been sitting in comfort and free from pain. I was so astonished that I spoke outright the words, "What does this mean?" Truth answered; for I heard as plainly as if a voice had spoken, You are healed. This healing occurred in 1917; and I have had no return of the trouble.
I could never put into words my feelings at that time, or ever be grateful enough for this proof of God's omnipotence, made possible of demonstration through Christian Science. I am truly grateful.— Ventnor City, N. J.
