I am so glad to have found the God who is Love, "who healeth all thy diseases." Several years ago our daughter, who was a little past three years old, was so weakened, having had measles, bronchial trouble, and pneumonia, that she could not walk, and seemed to take cold and have a light form of fever almost all the time. Needless to say, we did everything that was told us to do, giving her medicine of one or more kinds every day; but there was no improvement, and we were advised to take her to a warmer climate. About that time, my husband's sister talked to us about Christian Science; and we decided to try it, so that we should not have to give her anything in the way of material remedies. We began treatment, not knowing what to expect. In two weeks the child began to walk again, and to eat plenty of food. As soon as she was able, we put her in the Christian Science Sunday School; and she has attended there ever since, having been a pupil for seventeen years. She is now a teacher in the Sunday school. All this time Christian Science has been our only physician. Every one of our family has been healed many times.
Only a few weeks ago, while preparing the evening meal, I opened the gas oven before lighting the gas, which I had turned on, and it caught fire from the flame on the top, causing an explosion which knocked me down. My face, eyebrows, and the edges of my hair were burned, but the pain left me in about half an hour.
Words can never tell what Christian Science has done for me. It has given me a higher 'standard, and created in me a desire to think better thoughts, to live a cleaner life, and to love more all that is good and worth while. The Bible is a new book to me; and the Lord's Prayer is very dear to me with the spiritual interpretation that Mrs. Eddy has given to the world on pages 16 and 17 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."— Kansas City, Mo.
