While visiting my mother, my boy was taken ill with infantile paralysis. Owing to the fact that this epidemic was very pronounced and some of the physicians had stated it was useless to call them and I had been interested in Christian Science for only about two months, I was very much alarmed when the boy came home from school ill, with all of the symptoms, including a high fever. Never having had a Christian Science treatment, and realizing it would be useless to call a doctor, I hardly knew what to do; but I finally decided to place my trust in God. I picked up a Journal I had been reading, selected a practitioner, and went out immediately to telephone her to come to the house. Upon my return I found the child asleep. The practitioner arrived in a short time, and stayed at the house working in Science about one hour. Shortly after the practitioner left the child awoke and asked for something to eat; then got out of bed. He was completely healed. This instantaneous healing was a wonderful demonstration to me and to the rest of the family.
