One evening I was thrown down by an automobile. One of the front wheels of the machine went over my legs and then backed off. With assistance I got up, however, and walked into a shop close by, where my ear was washed out, as it was full of mud. After that I walked out to the machine, and was taken to my home by the person who had run me down. On reaching home I walked into the house, went upstairs, undressed, and went to bed, practically unaided. I then told my daughter to telephone for Christian Science help. Up to this time I was steadily holding on to the truth. After lying on my back for two hours I tried to lie on my left side, but experienced severe pain. Soon after this a physician came and examined me. After doing so, he said I had a broken rib, and bandaged me. I slept only about two hours that night and about four hours the next night, for I had much pain, not only in the side where the fracture was, but in all parts of the body. However, on Friday morning, a little over a day and a half after the accident, while reaching out for the truth, I must have touched the healing Christ, Truth, for I was instantly healed. The healing was genuine. Three hours afterwards I got out of bed. The next day I dressed, went downstairs for my meals, and walked across the street to my place of business. The next day I went to church. On Monday I walked to the Reading Room, and in the evening attended our board meeting. On Tuesday I went to work as usual.
This experience showed me that Christ, Truth, heals broken bones as well and as readily as disease. I am indeed very grateful for Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy's revelation to this age.— York, Pa.
