Words are inadequate to express...

From the June 1926 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the blessed truths which Mrs. Eddy has given to the world in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and her other writings. Before coming to Christian Science, I had many of the diseases that "flesh is heir to;" all of which had left me in a semi-invalid condition. As I knew nothing of Christian Science and had heard only unfavorable reports of it, it was almost impossible to persuade me to see a practitioner. Finally I went to one, however, and her very clear understanding of Christian Science and loving patience with me convinced me that she, at least, was all right. After the first treatment I was able to do things for work and for pleasure that had been impossible for months.

After twelve treatments I was completely healed of all my diseases, and an ungovernable temper had been brought under control. I may add that the temper was the last to yield, because I did not want to give up "flaring back" at any one who I thought misused me. When the practitioner explained to me that it was only ignorance of the truth that caused people to say and do unkind things, I was ready to listen; for who wants to be an ignoramus? That happened over ten years ago, and since then Christian Science has always met my every need. I am indeed grateful.—
