LOVE'S CARE

From the June 1926 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way."—Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, page 454.

'T is Love inspires, that gives the inward urge
That blends desire with courage for the race.
Love pours the wine of the new sacrament:
We see His face.

'T is Love illumines; in the darkness dense
Of ignorance and doubt, and sin. and fear,
Love lights the sacred lamp of Truth; and then
We see Him near.

Love designates; have we uncertain been
Which path to choose of all that are in sight?
Love gives the wisdom Solomon did seek—
To know the right!

Love leads the way; alone we need not go,
Exploring unknown fields on foreign shore;
For always, in the night as in the day,
Love goes before.
