I take pleasure in expressing my gratitude for all the blessings I have received through Christian Science.
For a time our existence could be compared to a small boat on a rolling sea, beaten on all sides by threatening waves of sickness and every other sort of inharmony. According to the doctor's statement, my wife had an incurable disease; and my brother-in-law, who works with me, had been suffering from stomach trouble for more than fifteen years. Through treatments from a Christian Science practitioner he was healed in a few weeks. For my part I was broken down with anxiety and grief; and fear and discouragement possessed me to such a degree that I became the prey of very painful neurasthenic attacks. My disposition was difficult, with a fiery temper which caused a great many torments and discords in our home. Other difficulties added to this already painful situation: financial losses and lack, caused by the failure of a bank which sank with it the resources necessary for the success of our business.
It was into this chaotic state that the first helpful rays of Christian Science penetrated. The blessings which we have received since that day are innumerable. With the precious help of a practitioner the waves of error rapidly calmed, and false beliefs, in spite of their frightful appearance of reality, were reduced to their nothingness one after the other. Yes, thanks to Christian Science, our home and our business have been transformed into a field of ceaseless activity, where health, harmony, abundance, and peace are found. Pride, hatred, bitterness, resentment, and other mortal traits have given place to humility, love, forgiveness, and patience.
