It is with a heart filled with gratitude I am writing this testimony of the many blessings and healings Christian Science has brought to me. The knowledge that God is ever present has given me peace, contentment, and joy.
The first healing I had was from the fear of death. I had been suffering from the effects of the grippe and was having sinking spells. It seemed as if I could always hear a voice saying, "Send for your daughter." I did not then know she was studying Christian Science. After having a very severe spell I felt as if I could never stand another, so she was sent for. She could stay only a few days, and said, "Mother, you must go home with me." I wondered how I could go. Some days I had not been up at all, and I had not eaten a meal in the dining room for two months. It was very cold winter weather, snow banks were high, and we were four miles from the railroad station. But I seemed to have strength to do what she told me to do, and so I got myself dressed and ready to go with her. We traveled a day and a night. She said: "Mother, will you try Christian Science? If you will, I will give you a number and you can make an appointment with a practitioner." I did as she advised, and in less than a week I threw all my bottles of medicine away. I had "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy always near me during the day and most of the night. I have been healed of sick headaches from which I had suffered since girlhood, of a chronic cough, fear of taking cold, and many other ills. For these healings I am very grateful; but much more so for the understanding I have gained of God. I am grateful that I am a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church. I want to live so that I shall be always listening for His voice and ready to obey.— Amherst, South Dakota.
