Deep gratitude impels me to give my testimony for the blessings which my family and I received about five years ago from Christian Science. I was seeking for truth when a friend gave me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I soon understood that this book is the revelation of the understanding of the truth in the Scriptures, and I purchased a copy. At this time I was suffering from what is called chronic bronchitis, and in spite of all the best efforts to cure this discordant condition, the trouble only grew worse. I was soon freed by the reading of Science and Health, and to-day I enjoy perfect health. I have also been healed of kidney trouble, of rheumatism, and of stomach difficulties. All this was accomplished without a practitioner's help. These healings are not of the greatest importance, since what I am most grateful for is the spiritual understanding which Christian Science has brought me. It has completely changed my thoughts and my life, and to-day I am cheerful and happy. God is Love. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."
I should also like to relate something which took place nearly two years ago. Our only son, who at that time was three years old, fell on a cement curb from a height of about twelve feet. My husband picked him up and brought him to me in an unconscious state. The child's wounds were on his head and side. My trust in God remained unshaken and the victory was won. At the end of half an hour the child said to me, "Mama: I don't feel badly any more." This happened in the morning; at noon the child was running as before. Since then he has enjoyed robust health "This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."
I am very grateful for Christian Science, and I also feel deep thankfulness to all the Christian Science friends who have encouraged me by their kind words. I sincerely thank Mrs. Eddy for having so clearly shown us the way of the Christ, Truth. My greatest desire is to understand this beautiful Science better, so as to help others as I have been helped. For I know that "whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."—Rothau, France.
