THE student who reads the writings of Mary Baker Eddy with an understanding heart is touched with the inspiration of Truth, is uplifted, quickened, and brought into a sense of more abundant life. And sooner or later his blessings are reflected in his immediate surroundings. His home atmosphere is improved; the love active in his mentality reaches his friends and also their friends. Eventually a number of people, moved by the divine animus, begin opening avenues to bring this truth to the public. In time, public services are held; a Christian Science church or society is organized; a Reading Room, authorized literature, and authorized lectures are provided for the general public.
As the individual is inspired, lightened, quickened, and freed by his understanding of Truth, in like manner since the discovery of Christian Science the thought of mankind, generally, has been greatly elevated and purified, as witness both the press and the pulpit. Already we are seeing that this revelation of Truth is destined to become universally known and accepted. How could it be otherwise, since God has been revealed by Christian Science as infinite divine good?
God is Love, universally bestowing His blessings; Love universally adequate to meet all human needs; Love not confined to any location or sect, but demonstrable to each and all of His children. There is no problem of mortals but can be taken to God, universal divine good, for right solution; no human trial in which God's loving care cannot be proved. God is divine Principle, the source of undeviating, steadfast, certain existence, the universal Father-Mother, comprehending and expressing all true being. God is Life, imparting spiritual energy, activity, and progress throughout His whole creation. What capability, what spontaneity, what joy, must therefore characterize all the ideas of God!
