[Written for the Journal]

SUPPLY

From the October 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A few small fishes and some loaves
Our Lord once multiplied,
To feed five thousand men; nay more,
Twelve baskets full, beside!

And thus he proved man's every need
Abundantly supplied,
When, strong in faith, we turn to God
And in His law abide.

But oh! man may not imitate
This mighty feat of Mind,
Until he learns that Love divine
Is feeding all mankind!

Then opulence beyond our dreams
We'll find man's heritage,
Outlasting years and centuries,
Untouched by lack or age.

Our need, to know that God is Love,
And man His blessed son;
Thus may we prove, as did our Lord,
God's work already done!
