It is with profound gratitude for Christian Science that I send this testimony of a healing of heart trouble which I experienced a few years ago. From the age of ten years I had been in bondage to this difficulty, which involved frequent attacks. Christian Science was first introduced to me, at a time of great need, by a loving friend in business, who helped me on several occasions to see the truth of its statements. I commenced to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and for a year struggled to overcome this disease. Although the attacks were less frequent, they seemed to get more difficult to overcome.
My friend then advised me to have treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. I took this advice, and treatment was commenced. I was referred to page 325 of the same textbook, where I read, "Then shall man be found, in His likeness, perfect as the Father, indestructible in Life, 'hid with Christ in God,'—with Truth in divine Love, where human sense hath not seen man." I cannot adequately express what a consolation these words were to me, and I was healed of the heart trouble. It is now over seven years since I found this great truth. Since this first healing I have experienced a number of others, including the healing of gastritis, of a broken elbow bone, of burns on the foot from boiling water, and an instantaneous healing of tonsillitis.
I am most sincerely grateful for the spiritual understanding gained from the Bible and from the works of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy. I am grateful for the calm, hopeful, and peaceful outlook on life which we obtain when we put into practice the little we know. I am grateful to God for our Leader's life and example. I am grateful to the practitioner who helped me, and for membership in a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.— London, England.
