MY WORD

From the September 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My word "that goeth forth out of my mouth . . .
Shall not return unto me void."
No word of God has yet been known to fail:
His word is law!
Supreme, irrevocable, it stands
Throughout all generations!

The word that said, "Let there be light," still speaks,
And error cowers trembling into dust,
Resolved into its native nothingness.
For 'tis the Christ
Appears, that blessed Light
"Which lighteth every man . . . into the world."

No word of Truth is ever lost, or fails;
For God is ever "mindful of His own."
His power supports, sustains, and multiplies
Each least idea,
And with Omnipotence it does go forth
To heal,
And brings forth fruit "an hundredfold."
