Over four years ago I started to study Christian Science in earnest, and it is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony. During these years I have been healed of lack. The complete overcoming of the illusion that money is substance developed a talent before undreamed of, which enables my husband and me to work side by side, in perfect harmony. The study of this beautiful truth is gradually doing away with the carnal beliefs of selfishness, mad ambition, criticism, envy, love of praise; and I find myself striving to obey the Golden Rule, to love more, and to realize the truth of Paul's words, "Our sufficiency is of God."
Our loving Father-Mother God has completely wiped out the illusion of intemperance by the understanding that He is omnipotent Love, omnipresent good, and that man is God's perfect reflection. The past four years have been full and running over with blessings, with the healing of dis-eases, the overcoming of sin, and the joy of the spiritualization of thought. The depth of the meaning of the little sentence, God is Love; the love and help of a loving practitioner; the joy of trying to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and the realization of why we should obey this divine rule—for these blessings I wish in deep humility to attest my gratitude by doing what God would have me do, as far as I understand His perfect law.
It is wonderful when the truth of the one divine power dawns on the darkened human consciousness; that wherever we seem to be, or whatever we may appear to be doing, there is the one Mind, the one real might and presence—God. For a grain of this beautiful truth one feels overjoyed, anxious for the next day to appear, that he may demonstrate more of God's law. I shall ever be grateful for the privilege of studying Mrs. Eddy's works. I had never opened the Bible until I began to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, who, through her purity and obedience to God, was given the power to discern the spiritual thread which runs all through that holy Book, a slight glimpse of which starts one on his journey Godward.
