I should like to express gratitude for the great good that has come to me since I began the study of Christian Science nearly twelve years ago. There has been hardly a day during that time without some proof of the healing power of Truth. I was suffering from a complication of diseases for which I had undergone three major operations. Like the woman we read of in the Bible, I was "nothing bettered, but rather grew worse." All kinds of treatment had been given me from some of the best physicians in the West. In desperation I finally decided to see a Christian Science practitioner, as I knew she could do me no harm, even though she might not help me. I shall never forget my first talk with her. She advised me to buy a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to note the first lines in the Preface (p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." She gave me treatments for one week, during which time I studied very earnestly from the Bible and Science and Health. I was not only healed of the serious trouble for which I had asked treatment, but all other ailments left me too: chronic tonsillitis, constipation, weak eyes, for which I had worn glasses for ten years. Even corns on my feet were gone.
Needless to say, I have been happy to study Christian Science daily since that time. There has been no recurrence of these ills, and I am in excellent health. My husband and I are members of a branch church and of The Mother Church, and our children are pupils in the Christian Science Sunday School. They are earnest Christian Scientists and in many instances have made their own demonstrations. Our small daughter was healed of warts on her hands through her own right thinking. Surely it would be difficult to attempt the care and training of children without the daily help from the study of Christian Science! The children have never used any material remedies, and we have had many proofs of God's protecting care. — Salem, Oregon.
