"GRACE FOR TO-DAY"

From the March 1930 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear God, Thy will be done—this is my prayer.
I know there is no higher thought than Thine.
A day in Thy courts, Lord, to me assign,
A thousand others could not shine so fair.

Dear God, Thy kingdom come. Thy perfect plan,
The reign of Life, Truth, Love, established here,
Eliminates the very thought of fear,
Rules in the perfect brotherhood of man.

Dear Lord, we ask once more for daily bread,
Trusting Thy holy law be understood
To operate in all for every good—
"Grace for to-day," famished affections fed.

Forgive us, Lord, our debts, as we forgive;
Blot out, as we blot out, the thought of ill,
Beholding not a mote, but being still,
And knowing Thou art God, in whom we live.

Temptation, Lord, take from us far away,
Deliverer from sin, disease, and death.
The still, small voice in gracious promise saith:
Believing is receiving, when you pray.

Good infinite, all majesty above,
The kingdom, power, and glory we allow,
Belong to the Eternal here and now—
All, over all, omniscient Life and Love.
