I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for Mrs. Eddy, who made it possible for us to have our understanding of Church with us though we may be miles from any church building. We have used Christian Science for over twenty-two years, and it has never failed us when rightly applied.
About seventeen years ago we had a beautiful demonstration. I was taken with typhoid fever, and my people, not being interested in Christian Science, called a doctor, who said I could not possibly live. I had had two very severe hemorrhages of the bowels. I had told them to send word to a friend, miles away, for Christian Science treatment; and although there were many dark and trying hours, Truth won. I was soon up and around and able to resume my duties again. My husband and my sister read from the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as the practitioner requested, when I was unconscious.
Some time ago a felon formed on my thumb, but I worked mentally and did not ask for help. Later, because of confusion in our home, blood poisoning set in, and before we realized it the condition had reached my side. I called for help immediately, and the hand was healed without blemish. For a time the thought of deformity would come to me, but the practitioner met each thought lovingly and there is no deformity at all. There was no pain during this whole experience, although to attend my Association meeting I had to travel many miles by automobile. I am very grateful for this healing.
