I cannot praise God enough for bringing me into Christian Science, through which I was saved from an operation to which I was about to submit, even though doctors thought I might be too weak to undergo it.
An experience for which I can never be sufficiently grateful was a healing I had of erysipelas in August, 1925. The swelling was severe for three or four days, but with the faithful help of a Christian Science practitioner I suffered very little pain, although I seemed unable to get any sleep. After this the swelling went away from my face. One morning about half past seven o'clock I awoke my husband and said, "I am passing on." I had him call the practitioner, whose reply was, ''Tell her to come to the telephone." I said, "No, I cannot." But I wanted to be obedient, so with my kind husband's assistance I reached the telephone. After I had related a lot of error to the practitioner, his stern reply was "No" —and I was healed right then.
After this another battle was fought: heart trouble in complicated form presented itself, and I can never cease to be grateful to the practitioner who so kindly helped me. Whatever hour of night I called him I was helped each time. It took about five weeks of working and declaring the truth before I was healed and could sleep regularly again. How can I ever thank God enough for all He has done for me!
