Over twenty-two years ago I turned to Christian Science as a last resort for physical healing. Having been left a motherless and delicate babe, I struggled through childhood, girlhood, and young womanhood with a sense of weakness and limitation, and was frequently under medical treatment. I married, and after the birth of our second child I turned to Christian Science for healing, and received it at once. The condition that threatened to take me from my family was blood poisoning. I was restored to better health than I had ever before known. My thought was turned away from the human concept of body, and lifted to see man as God's idea, forever at-one with the Father-Mother God. I began at once to be an earnest student of Christian Science, to read and study the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly, to attend the Christian Science services as often as possible, to subscribe for and read the periodicals, and to strive daily to bring the activity of God's law into my home and daily life. In due time I became a member of a branch church, and found great joy and opportunity for growth Spiritward in taking part in various church activities. I am very grateful for every step I have taken, for membership in The Mother Church, class instruction from a loyal Christian Scientist, and all the other blessings that have come into my life.
Many difficult problems have been encountered along the way, but oh, the joy of knowing that God is ever present and all-power, and that human footsteps taken under His guidance lead ever upward to a higher and higher realization of the perfect day, promised in the Scriptures! I was reared in a religious home and taught to love and revere the Bible; and I am so thankful for the light that Christian Science has brought to me through my study of the Scriptures.
