Almost the first time I turned to Christian Science for help I was instantaneously healed of neuritis. A nerve specialist in California had said that only rest and quiet for a long time would effect a cure. When I went to the Christian Science practitioner I was very weak, hardly able to walk, and frantic with pain. The condition had been growing steadily worse over a period of three months. I was with the practitioner half an hour. She talked to me o God's loving, protecting care and of man's birthright. I came away healed, free in every way. That was over thirteen years ago.
I believe it was fortunate for me that my next severe testing time was not cleared away so readily; in fact, it was over a year before I was free. That was a blessing, for through striving came progress.
I am most grateful for a proof of healing in a Christian Science lecture. Going down some snow-covered stairs I fell with one foot doubled under me. The pain was intense, and before evening I could not stand the weight of a sheet across my foot. In the morning, however, I walked across the room. The following evening I went to a Christian Science lecture. I sat with my foot very still. I felt I was healed, although when I stood up the condition seemed to be still present; but by morning the healing was realized, and the foot was normal.
