From the December 1931 issue of The Christian Science Journal

[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, October 24, 1931]

Because radiocasting presents increasing opportunities for sending out over the air Christian Science programs, it has seemed necessary for The Christian Science Board of Directors to define in this respect the relative responsibilities of branch churches and societies and of Committees on Publication.

Earlier in the history of broadcasing, the Directors made a rule that a Christian Science church service or a lecture on Christian Science should always be radiocast from the auditorium where given, and not sent out from studios. This rule still stands, and experience has proved its wisdom. Subsequently, some of our churches have, without the disapproval of the Directors of The Mother Church, participated in programs sponsored by others, or undertaken in an experimental way regular short periods of broadcasting from studios.
