SONGS AT NIGHT

From the December 1931 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My soul doth magnify God's holy way—
God giveth songs at night as in the day.
My heart shall sing in gratitude and praise,
In sweetest of joy my voice I'll raise.
When trials press me hard on every side,
When pain and fear again are multiplied,
I'll lift my thought, and through it all maintain
The spirit of the songbird in the rain.
The watches of the night shall joyful be
When God's own perfect will I clearly see.
As His dear child, to me fore'er belongs
The joys of Love, and Love's triumphant songs.
