Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science. On page 254 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, writes, "When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path." I did not come into Christian Science through a physical healing. I was looking for a church home where I would learn the truth about God, which I was eagerly seeking; and I was very grateful when divine Love directed my path to the Christian Science church. As I was leaving the church edifice the text on the wall from John, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," filled my consciousness; and for days, while at my work, which was public health nursing, I found myself repeating this text. With great joy and earnestness I began studying daily the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly and reading the Christian Science literature; and before many months I was able to resign my position and accept one as a Christian Science nurse.
Since coming into Christian Science I have had a number of healings. I have been able to lay aside glasses which I had worn for astigmatism for twenty-seven years. Also, a small tumor under my left breast faded into its native nothingness as a result of my reading the Bible and the Christian Science textbook and attending the church services.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for class instruction by a loyal teacher, for the literature and lectures, and for our practitioners, who so lovingly and untiringly help us with our problems.—Baltimore, Maryland.
