I became interested in Christian Science over seventeen years ago. At that time I had been suffering from an obstruction of the intestines. I had tried everything that physicians had suggested, and finally submitted to a surgical operation, but received no relief; I had come to where materia medica could do no more for me. Through the advice of a friend I took up Christian Science, and with the loving help of a practitioner was healed in six weeks. I have been healed of periodical attacks of tonsillitis, a severe case of neuritis, muscular rheumatism, influenza, a severe case of stomach trouble, chronic constipation, and neuralgia. I was enabled to discard glasses which I had worn for many years and which I had been told by an oculist I would always have to wear.
I was healed of deep sorrow when my sister passed on. In our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (pp. 386, 387), we find these words: "When our friends pass from our sight and we lament, that lamentation is needless and causeless. We shall perceive this to be true when we grow into the understanding of Life, and know that there is no death."
Divine Love has given me abundantly of everything I needed, and I know I shall never lack anything good if I obey our Lord's command given in the Sermon on the Mount, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
