In 1907, after witnessing the healing of my sister through Christian Science treatment, I wished to know what Christian Science was. I therefore began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and to study the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and I received many blessings.
Since my youth I had suffered from asthma. As a result of my study of Christian Science it lessened, but was not healed. In 1914 I experienced a more severe attack than I ever had before. I received Christian Science treatment, and was healed—but not until I realized that I could not lack anything, since I was God's reflection, receiving all good always, and not until I had overcome my pride and was willing to give up self-pity, self-love, and self-justification.
