Christian Science is each day proving to be the "pearl of great price," and the fulfillment of the promise of Christ Jesus that he would send us a Comforter that would abide with us forever.
I should like to express my gratitude for the many benefits I have received through Christian Science. It is about six years since I became interested in the study and application of this wonderful truth; and I have found it to solve my every problem when scientifically applied. I have realized many healings; but one for which I am especially grateful at this time is that of ptomaine poisoning and complete stoppage of the bowels. This manifested itself very suddenly. By the time a practitioner could be summoned, I was suffering agony. While I experienced relief from the extreme pain after the first treatment, I was not free from pain or from constant vomiting for about a week. At this time, when conditions seemed very critical, a kind and loving practitioner came to my bedside about eleven o'clock at night. Almost instantly I felt myself improving; the pain and vomiting ceased; and about three hours later I fell asleep. When I awakened in the morning I was able to sit up in bed, and soon after had an almost normal bowel action. This was on a Thursday; by Sunday evening I was able to take nourishment, and the following Wednesday was able to be up. Two weeks later I was back at my work, filling my position as actively as ever. Through the protective work that I was taught to do, I have been able to continue my services; and in a more able capacity than ever before, as I seem to be better qualified for my responsibilities, understanding that the responsibility really rests with God.
While the truth was being declared for the malady mentioned, many other discordant conditions were corrected, and a member of my family was healed. A sister who was in my home while an audible treatment was being given by the practitioner, almost immediately manifested better health and more strength than she had for many years. Severe headaches with which I had been troubled for many years have also completely vanished.
