Christian Science came into my life when the doctors had given me a limited time to live; heart disease, intestinal trouble, and nervous prostration had made me a semi-invalid, and I had lost faith in medicine. While I did not realize it at the time, my healing began when I expressed a willingness to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The book became my constant companion day and night. My first visit to a practitioner was a wonderful experience to me, as I was instantaneously healed of the intestinal trouble and of a great sorrow due to the passing on of my baby. A load was lifted from my heart when the practitioner lovingly explained that death is not in accordance with God's will, and that I did not have to be reconciled to "the last enemy." The other diseases were slower in yielding, but this proved a blessing in disguise, as it made me strive more earnestly to understand the truth.
In the twenty years since my first healing I have had many proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science, and it has been invaluable in solving the problems incident to the bringing up of a family of children. I wish to express my gratitude to the loyal practitioners who labor unselfishly to further the Cause of Christian Science.
