Christian Science was presented to me about twenty years ago while we were living in Colorado, where we had gone in search of health for my husband. We were greatly disappointed in this search, however, as my husband grew steadily worse, and I was compelled to seek employment in order to support our family of four.
At this time a neighbor told me of Christian Science and lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read the book faithfully, using every opportunity to gain some understanding of this beautiful truth of God and man; and this understanding gave me a sense of peace, harmony, and health never before experienced. While my husband's healing was slow, a beautiful transformation took place in his character. He was healed of the alcoholic drink habit, and of asthma and hernia. Our demonstration of supply was also beautifully made.
Another demonstration in our family was the healing of a nephew, who was accidentally shot while hunting. The entire load of shot from his gun went through his foot and ankle. The wound was dressed by a surgeon, but the flow of blood did not cease until he was given help in Christian Science. The attending physician stated that amputation of the limb was absolutely necessary, but through the application of the truth as taught in Christian Science the lad was healed in a comparatively short time.
