Testimonies of Healing

For all the blessings that have...

From the April 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For all the blessings that have come into our home through the study and application of Christian Science, I desire to express my sincere gratitude. I wish to tell of a healing that came after earnest study was given to a thought given out by one of our Christian Science lecturers. The thought was that a child does not go to school to learn a mass of facts so much as to cultivate and develop certain faculties of intelligence, such as perception, reason, memory, application, and judgment; that, as a child of God, in reality he can no more be separated from the activity of that intelligence than God can be lost or destroyed. The result of prayerful contemplation of this thought was that our son advanced more rapidly in his school work, for which we were very grateful.

We have been able to apply the truth, with splendid results in overcoming burns on the body. My husband was healed of stomach trouble of years' standing, after three physicians were unable to give him relief. This healing took place within ten days. He has also been healed of an extreme case of influenza. Our son was severely cut with a knife and was healed by realizing that "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword." He has also been healed of measles, colds, mumps, and beautifully protected from accident while riding his bicycle. I have been healed of heart trouble, hives, pain in the side, and the wearing of glasses. Worry and fear, to a great degree, have been eliminated from my consciousness.

I am sincerely grateful for all these healings, but more so for having gained a better understanding of God. I am also grateful for our lecturers, who are bringing such wonderful messages of healing to mankind; grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the privilege of serving in the Christian Science Sunday School. I am thankful to God, to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and to all those who have so lovingly and patiently helped us along the way.—
