Of the many blessings I have received in Christian Science since I became a student I wish to mention two which have been a great help to me. One was the healing of rheumatism. It seemed very slow, but while I was making the demonstration I was learning more about this wonderful truth and becoming stronger. Our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says on page 233 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "'Every clay makes its demands upon us for higher proofs rather than professions of Christian power." For many weeks it caused me great pain to move, but with the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed.
More recently I was quite suddenly stricken with excruciating pains in my abdomen and side, which became so intense as to be almost unbearable. Members of my family showed much fear, and realizing my own inability to solve the problem I requested the immediate help of a practitioner. Upon his arrival it seemed as if I were passing on. Within a short time the pain subsided, and I slept the remainder of that night. However, the complete healing was not realized at once. Discouragement tried to creep in; but I clung steadfastly to the truth, and with the help of the practitioner, who so patiently and faithfully worked with me, the healing was brought about in ten days. I am indeed grateful for this experience; for not only did it heal me, but it also overcame the prejudice of a member of the family.
My children have both had many beautiful healings, including the healing of measles, chicken pox, and scarlet fever which yielded in two days. There have been many problems met by knowing the allness of God and the protection He has over His children.
