We have had many lovely proofs of the healing power of Truth and Love; so I am writing of this one in order that others may benefit by it, as we have been helped by reading other testimonies.
One day our little boy, then three years old, complained that his leg hurt him. By the following day his muscles were lax, and he had no control of his arms, legs, or back. I called a Christian Science practitioner right away, but as other members of my family were not interested in Science at that time and were not satisfied with calling a practitioner they insisted on having a doctor. Therefore we called a children's specialist to diagnose the case. He tried hard to find symptoms of something but failed; however, he quarantined us for infantile paralysis.
The doctor was discharged right away. I told him we would have Christian Science treatment and would not need him. But he kept coming, and could not understand what made the boy have such a rapid and complete recovery. Through constant study and the work of a loving practitioner our boy was able to walk that same summer; and he is now able to do everything that boys his age can do—play ball, climb trees— and is as healthy as the rest.
