Over seven years ago I was healed of Bright's disease through Christian Science. I had been under the care of a physician who did not give me much encouragement, remarking, "Your condition is such that you need not expect very much help." He would not say that medicine could cure me. Growing much worse, I finally decided to turn to Christian Science for help. Although for a time my healing seemed very slow, I steadily improved until I finally recovered. None of the symptoms of this disease have ever returned.
In the winter of 1929 I was healed of a very severe form of erysipelas after it had spread over my entire face and scalp. We called a physician on account of the state law regarding reportable diseases. After examining me he told the family that I was in a dangerous condition and they should watch me very closely. I did not take any medicine; instead, my husband called a Christian Science practitioner to help me. The physician called once each day to watch the case. At the end of one week he told me that I had come along just fifty per cent better than he had expected. He also stated that I should be fortunate if I did not lose all my hair. The condition was completely overcome through Christian Science treatment. That same winter I was healed of bronchitis, from which I had suffered each winter for many years. I have never had an attack since.
Our daughter has received much help through Christian Science. Four years ago she was in an accident. Her nose and one knee were very badly injured. We called for Christian Science help and in one week she was in school. She has also been healed of tonsillitis, ivy poisoning, influenza, and many so-called children's diseases.
